The past two weeks

We have had a lot happen in the last two weeks, so I thought I'd do a bit more of an update. As well as the lovely holiday and the crawling we also have pulling up to standing and another two teeth. Which may explain the terrible sleep we are having.

Our holiday was just a cottage on the north yorkshire coast, but it was so so nice to have a holiday. I absolutely love that part of the country, and given it was yorkshire in February the weather was mostly really good

We had lots of wandering along beaches, a fair amount of coffee baileys and wine, some poker, lots of watching the winter olympics and a very funny night playing just dance on the wii. Holidaying with friends isn't something we do often but it was such a fantastic week we shall have to do it again.



And to prove I'm still going with the knitting here is what I made while away. I'm so pleased with them and have had a few lovely comments



They were so easy, just a two row pattern, anyone could make them!

Uninterrupted sleep?

Can someone please tell me what that is again??? I don't mind the usual twice a night feeds and then settling back down, but the every 45 minutes and then not going back in the cot that we've had for the last week and a half is a little too much!!!

Saying that we have just had a lovely lovely holiday which and we now have crawling, so there is as always a lot to be grateful for. But a little more sleep would be lovely.

Knitting

Look what I made this week!


I'm so proud of myself. I have actually knitted something for myself that fits and that I like and that only took a couple of days! I'm very tempted to do another in a different colour. I have recently been to a new local wool shop that sells hand dyed yarns so I thing I will to make myself some more things and take advantage of all the lovely things she sells and also the help she is willing to provide! Here is my recent purchases, I love the purple yarn

And to prove it isn't a one off I'm also halfway through a jumper for Noah.

Ok so I haven't actually done any painting as such for over a year, not played my instruments for a long time (aside from playing the recorder to ds as he loves it) but I definitely have my knitting thing back so yay!

The 10 minute rule

Pregnancy test are like lit fireworks. You should never ever go back to one.

Why is it??

That everytime I turn my back for more then 3 seconds the big man has made his way accross the room and is attempting to eat some sort of wire or cable or phone charger or whatever wire he can find! He can't even crawl yet still he manages! I think we need a playpen and to babyproof the house a bit better!!

Snow day

Given the large amount of snow we have had recently in the uk, it seems a shame not to at least post a couple of pictures. They are just taken from my phone, but it is so beautiful up here I had to take a few.

Please donate milk

I've been meaning to make this post since before Christmas, but better late then never.

I know I have mentioned in passing before that I'm a milk donor, but there has recently been an article in my local and also nationalnewspapers that caught my attention, and I thought if I can encourage just one person to be a milk donor then that can only be a good thing. For the earliest and the sickest of babies it can make a world of difference.
